Davey Cadaver 2020

This painting is extraordinarily important and marks a time in our culture that must be addressed. The figure is obviously a woman and is posed in a classic reclining position as is seen in many classic works by noted artists such as Klimt, Picasso, and Shiele. Although in this particular piece, her face is completely obscured. This brings even more focus to the woman’s face as the viewer is left to imagine what COULD be there, rather than what IS. What is Cadaver trying to say here? What does the title mean? “Headshot.” Is he trying to make a statement regarding war? Video Games known as “First Person Shooters” often feature this phrase and you can hear young boys shouting HEADSHOT!! After they kill another person. Is Davey trying to say something about the gun crisis in America? (where he currently resides)
Davey, why don’t you tell us yourself.

“My cat knocked over the ink I was using and I couldn’t bring myself to toss it in the rubbish bin.”
